FIELD DAY

Date TBA

Aquaponics is the most water efficient method of growing plants and fish. Aquaponics uses nutrient-rich water from fish tanks to circulate through grow beds where plants are grown. Nitrifying bacteria convert fish wastes into plant available nutrients. The plants use these nutrients as their main nutrient supply and the clean water is returned to the fish in a continuous cycle.
Aquaponics systems can range in scale from domestic backyard arrangements to large commercial operations.
Join us for a field trip to view an operational backyard system.
